The pull of color with a pallet knife or brush, allows me to work with unsaturated oil paint. I apply and wipe off excess paint for the use of color and multiple layers. I use Q-tips, sanding or grinding for removal. This also allows wood grain or canvas to work in relationship to the idea.
Raw paint over matte medium is used for overemphasizing color and implicating exaggerated images. This results in the abstraction of nature.
My passion for mangroves met my style of painting. In most of these compositions, the prop roots' direction work well with my relationship to how I attack these paintings.
